If you’ve seen THE WARRIORS, you will be familiar with 1970s New York gang culture, their dress code to show their affiliations and their camradarie.
RUBBLE KINGS is a documentary taking a look at the real gangs during this era, and how their ceasefire brought about peace, parties and the birth of the hip hop movement. Some of the early hip hop pioneers, like Afrika Bambaataa were themselves former gang members.
To celebrate the release of the film, the producers have gathered a cutting edge group of hip hop artists to create the perfect sonic companion to the doc which you can now listen to on Spotify.
